GTI Prices?
« on: 17 April 2005, 22:22 »
Hello all, 1st time posting so go easy on me.

Went for a test drive of the new GTI on Saturday. It blew me away! and thats just the price.
Have been looking on the web tonight and came across a dealer call allbrandnew.co.uk, they have got GTI's for 17k.  Has anyone ever heard of them of knows of them please let me know, can afford one at that price.

I looked at them aswell. However - the cars they are offering are imports and differ from a UK spec car. The alarm would need upgrading to Thatcham 1 standard and the warranty is only two years as opposed to 3 in the UK. I asked for quotes on threee seperate occasions and got nowhere with then so I walked away. Broadspeed are probably the best priced UK spec cars at the moment £19K. I've just ordered mine through them.

I was just wondering if anyone bought from a VW dealer and what discount they managed to get.

I am beginning to wonder if I should of haggled more, the dealer and I have agreed on a £300 discount on what was a £24040 setup. I did the normal and got carried away after a test drive!

Have I been stung ! and could I still get more of a discount ?

What did anyone else manage ?

Ah that makes me feel a bit better ,theres a few people that claim they have £1800 discounts, can anyone confirm this, haven't been able to tell me where from though, which makes me suspect they are fibbing a little

But open to be proved wrong

That's a big discount.  They are too sort after at the moment and there are waiting lists as you well know, so the stealers know that they can sell them for full whack so £1800 seems a lot to me.
......now officially dubless.

Ordered mine in December and paid full list. Any discount is unlikely at the moment because demand is so high. Agree it is a high price to pay but you wont be disappointed.

I got a £500 discount through Broadspeed but at the end of the day you are doing the deal through a VW main dealer...the discounts are there for the making

Ordered mine with DrivetheDeal.com on the 9th November 2004, not long after they anounced availability through them, apparantly was one of the first. Ordered 5 door, with dsg, leather, luxury pack 2, Cd autochanger, pearl diamond black. RRP of the car £24,380 bought for £21,762.23 (incl 1 RFL).
Since been told by drive the deal I was very lucky as due to Top Gear (Clarkson's reviews) and massive demand those sorts of discounts stopped almost immediately after buying, unsure how tru that is .
