What do we do if we get scammed on here?
« on: 24 August 2011, 15:36 »
Hi

Just wondering what we do if we get scammed on here?

Myself and a couple of others have been waiting for goods off a certain member with over 350 posts for well over a week now.  I am getting no replies to messages etc and he was on here on the 20th so will have picked up messages.  He has also stopped replying to 1 of the other guys when proof of postage was asked for.

Paypal are being stupid with me, I didnt send it as a gift either!!!

Any opinions as to what we can do?

What's the paypal issue? Is it too early to raise it?

No mate, it was sent as a personal payment, not a gift but I still paid the fees etc.  They are now saying however that all "personal payments" are not being considered when there are issues between vendor and buyer.

So now its not just the gift payments that are a no no, it is also personal payments.

JV I PMd you last night about this issue as its not just happening to me, there are 3 or 4 of us that are still waiting for out items.

At this point Im not saying that we are being scammed as I know that there could be a whole host of explanations.  Its just the fact that he has stopped communicating as soon as he has been challenged or asked for a tracking number.  Its fishy.

That sounds poor on the paypal and the seller front! Hopefully the seller will get in contact soon as it is someone who has been here for quite a long time so not the usual type scam for starters.

The seller has been in contact , the seller is me!   i value my feedback and post count on here im a regular and have been scammed myself by another member!  but im here to resolve this, yes it was a week ago, ive been busy with work stripping the car, but the parts have been posted, and i have kept in contact via text message on my own phone and on here,   as i have explained i post through work on a franking machine so there are no tracking numbers,  some people may see this as not being safe, but i have sent alot of things on ebay   (dmallard21)  and on here and never had a delivery issue

I apologise now for the delay , but normal things on ebay can take up to a week to come,. weve had a weekend inbetween those 8 days,  the goods are on the way to you (posted yesterday 23/08/11), if they are not with you by friday at the latest then i will issue a full refund via paypal,

But i will not be named as a scammer , ive bought and sold on here alot, and wouldnt come to clear my name if i was runnign a scam!

and the relevance of that post was?

it just annoys me a bit to be honest, alot of scammers on here wouldnt give out personal mobile numbers maintain contact if they wer scamming, i have done so , and the buyer implies that there are numerous people involved:

Ive sold the following on here

HID lights -   posted yesterday at the same time as the panel filter

K&N Panel filter- posted yesterday as above

forge 007p - posted beginnning of the week, error on my behalf i admit i did not have a replacement so a refund is being issued to the buyer!

milltek system- being couriered tommorow a bit late yes but ive had issues with work , it will be with the buyer in reading on friday

coilovers - collected in person

bbs lm reps - collected in person

I have explained that as per any normal person ive made an error with the time i apologise, but contact has been made on my behalf on a regular basis! , and if the items are not received by friday then a full refund will be given to the buyers

Thank you and apologies for the rant / essay,  i just dont like being accused of something im not!

Tis' unfortunate that in todays "age of the internet", people expect instant results.
