Not been on here for a while now, but still got the gti. hope you guys are doing well?
car has been of the road for over 6 months now and its time to put it back on the road. to start of the battery was flat so charged it up but the alarm went of so stopped it by using the key fob. now the central locking will not work also the electric widows, the fuel switch on the door and the indicators on the mirrors and the electric mirrors. all fuses are fine

Behind the glove box there is a small black box, this is the central convenience unit and runs all the central locking and windows. If its gone then you should be able to pick one off eBay for around £50, but my bet is you should be able to unplug it and plug it back in and you should be good to go.

i has something similar - all switches worked but nothing else (speaker, Red LED, wingmirror and indictor, central locking) so windows and fuel switch worked.
it was the central locking mechanism that caused it.
