Keeping car insured if declared SORN
« on: 22 August 2011, 21:11 »
Just gave Admiral a call and they will not insure my car for fire and theft if I declare it SORN, instead they will cancel the policy. What a load of crap! I may have to SORN it for a couple of months at the end of this month but want it insured still in-case something were to happen.

This new insurance law is stupid. I have just upgraded my Missus's car and the old one now has no insurance. It is sat on my drive and runs out of tax at the end of this month. I therefore cannot declare it sorn unless I apply for a refund on the tax. If I send the tax back for a refund this will take a few days then DVLA will write back explaining there is no refund due for this. This would then be the end of the month anyway. So I have to wait till the end of the month and just hope that I don't receive a fine. Can't win either way !!!!!!!!
