Only a fool would have stop/start function  on a high performance turbo car?

Image you have just polishing the loud pedal for a good 15 minutes and come to a set of traffic lights...your car stops the engine and also stops the turbo circulating the oil very suddenly  its a recipe for disaster.

Darren

Turbo heat and oil circulation is easy enough overcome by electric run on pumps...and the GTI isn't exactly 'high performance' is it, compared to the likes of the current M3..and it's got Stop/start.
no reason why not to have it..you can always turn it off.

The M3 doesn't have a turbo, I'm not sure. I think I would still class it has an high performance golf???

The bad thing with the current M3 is that you have to turn off the start/stop every time you start the car - most annoying
