mk4 Gt-tdi or 20vt
« on: 22 August 2011, 00:31 »
Ive now decided im going to buy a mk4 I originally wanted a 20vt but I havent driven one as of yet apart from my dads old one many moons ago which I cant really remember if it was quick or not tbh.I went to have a look at one tonight a 20vt running 190bhp of ED38 turned out to be a complete dog and I didnt even drive it, but on a plus note I got to have a good drive in my dads 130 bhp gt tdi.Its had a remap at retech not really sure what its running but I couldnt belive how quick it was and super economical and really pulls like a train. Now im thinking should i go for a tdi as there quick and they can be remapped etc plus cheaper to run or is the 20vt alot faster and just a stronger engine as the tdi.Im on a budget of about £2300 as ive still got my mk3 which ive now decided I dont want to start doing engine conversions on it etc but I just fancey something alot quicker

For you budget you would be better with a 1.8t, diesel's are worth a lot more unless you find a mega miles one cheap.
