carb to Kjet
« on: 21 August 2011, 18:49 »
I'm thinking of buying a mate's mk1 cabby GTI, but for some reason its got a 1.8 with a pooberg on it. Are the wiring looms the same between Kjet and carb if I want to convert it back?

I have no idea yet, but to be honest if the loom does need swapping I'd just put a digi in it, as I've done the carb to digi conversion before, and after owning both Kjet and digi I'd rather have digi anyday. Do the mk1 cabbys still use the same CE1 fusebox as the pre 90 spec mk2 digi? If so should be an easy plug and play swap, as long as the loom passes through the same place as a mk2?

I think a cabby is still on the older fuse box as it is a mk1 in most respects.
