yo peeps

My name is Ash, Im new to this sight! Iv owned quite a few mk2's over the years but never gone down the route of moding them! Just kept them standard and well maintained really. I currently own a Mk2 Campaign (Car in 10 million) as they say. Its a 1988 in black (LP9V) with forged rims and rainbow interior. Its apsolutly 1 of the best golfs Iv owned with a great back ground!! Im that in love with it i dont think i will ever let her go!! Its totally original and in very good condition however, I have decided to clean her up completly by giving her a well deserved paint job including the engine so I can take her to the dub shows although as it is i think will do well!! Whilst the engine is out i may as well give her some new bits and bobs and referb all your normal rusty bits too! this is where i thought about giving her some more power. I thought about super charging it but dont have much of a clue about it!?? :undecided: Any ideas would be well apreciated!?

Regards

Ash

Ask yourself a simple question:

Do you like spending absurd amounts of money?

If yes, then go to a tuning firm and ask them to do what you want.

If no, then go find a G60 motor and gearbox from a Corrado and use that.

Or bosh a 2.0 16V NA from a Golf3 into it.  That'd give you a worthwhile boost in performance and economy without breaking the bank and it'd look OEM installed.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Q1 - Here in the classifieds section, Ebay, scrap yards or specialist scrappies, other VW forums and anywhere else that brake cars.
Q2 - You could, but its alot more work, would need to uprate brakes, suspension, etc etc................not worth it imo
Q3 - If you get it from a breaker/scrap yard then possibly, you would need to ask them.
Q4 - Corrado G60 is hard to come by anyway, but a Golf G60 is very very rare if not a conversion anyway.

From what you've said, you need to do a load of looking around and reading before you do anything.

Unless you learn about it before you do anything, you're going to make a dog's breakfast of it, or pay a super-inflated price for the work.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
