I just fitted some hella twins to my Golf. I noticed that the dipped beam goes off when the main beam comes on, is this normal?

yes, my mk3 does the same, thinking of doing some mods to the loom to change this

if its a non gti model you need to bridge a relay! i remember seeing it on vw vortex! did it when i had a 1.4cl
