Remapping yes.. VVT attack no as its been proven to make less power over on R32OC.
The 2.8 V6 will make gains of around 10bhp at parts on the power curve, much sharper crisper throttle, the midrange dead spots removed to give a much smoother linear torque band, higher rpm limiter and better MPG.

oh right i was digging around over on r32oc and the vvt attacks they were doing
were proving a 30-40hp increase i read some somewhere from jbs but i may have my figures crossed.
all in all is it actually worth doing

From what I read they made 30bhp/40bhp more from the VvT attack mapping only on the tuners own dyno but back to back some owners went on the awesome gti dyno and made much less power from the remap.

Even with the 1.8t VvT mapping there is no was of getting 30bhp+ from cam timing as to make power the exhaust cam need to work in conjunction with the inlet cam overlap...... The flaw in there sales pitch is that the exhaust cam is static to to crank and no matter what you do in the mapping the can will open and close at the same point on every combustion stroke.  If you read on the tuners website they state for the 1.8t the Exhaust cam is what make the power... How?
With dual VvT on both cams there would be room for advance and retard on both cams then with the correct hardware setup there is a window for more power, maybe 5-8bhp.  but I have not seen gain just from mapping?

Don't take my word as a final conclusion to VvT mapping, google it and read up about cam overlap.

yer i have been reading just about every thread and post of the vvt,the realistic figure is around 25hp and that is on the
r32 engine and not mine, plus the map from jbs/custom code is like £400 not.
so all in all im am lost to be honest.
my problem is i want aggressive acceleration and pick up at low rev;s with power throughout the rev range with the lifted limiter,
i know i wont get an aggressive acc due to it not be charged.
it dosnt help when my previous car was a 400hp evo5

Hello,

We can do you a custom map on the dyno and road for £250 all inc, to get the best results your after you really need a performance air filter and run on v-power.  The V-power will allow us to run a stronger ignition setting during the mapping, and its the ignition that makes the power.
