well it worked b4 putting the new steering wheel on i cant understand y it wud just stop really so let me get this ryt u have changed ur 8v gti 2 a vr6?

yup, its going from a 2l 8v to a 2.8 v6

thats crazy do u afta change all the gear box and fuel tank and brakes etc etc

i got the box with the engine, loom, ecu etc. as its an early spec vr engine (pre '96 i believe) it dont have an immobiliser on the ecu which helps, so i just use my original key.

as for the rest of the vehicle you only need to change the drivers rear engine mount, driveshafts, brakes, fuel system, tank etc are all the same

all the engine and everything came to £200 and a full stainless 6branch manifold, stainless downpipe, stainless decat and stainless silencers all cost a £100, new engine mount £40 that are the main things.

so in theory £340 aint bad is it? lol. ok a lot of my time to do it but its all part of the fun and games aint it? all for the love

Unless you really like the car, sell it and buy a VR
