« on: 18 August 2011, 16:33 »
i need some help guys

my mk2 8v gti (1990) seems to have snap acceleration.

while driving slowly over speed humps or in slow traffic i then go to accelerate and it just jerks forward and wont accel smoothly as it should , however it doesn't do it all the time and its just while traveling slowly.

any ideas?

ive changed the !

plugs
leads
dizzy cap and arm
oil and filters including fuel.

not sure what else to do?

Check your engine mounts, especially the one on the front X member, grab the top of your engine, and rock it back and forth with all your body weight, if the engine moves more than an inch or so, then most likely needs the front mounting changing...

Mine does this but i know on mine the ignition timing is ever so slightly out because it pinks slightly and doesnt like starting when hot.
Only havent sorted mine because i have a new engine waiting for it.
