MOT doomsday in less than 12hrs
« on: 18 August 2011, 00:58 »
The time of year is coming but I must say I'm fairly confident with my little minter.

Anyway I've got a 52 plate turbs, and I'm thinking if it passes mot tomorrow of treating the old gal.

I've only got some rs4 alloys on at moment, and in silver with a expensive air filter.  But I'm after some advice, I'm thinking of a remap anyway...

But I'm after some cosmetic upgrades, any suggestions? The car is in silver.... I have been looking at some bonnet bra, de badges grill, maybe r32 or anni splitter, maybe some new rims etc endless list

So WHAT would u guys recommend? Or is anyone selling anything they think may help me spend some cash on my motor

Thanks in advance

Depends on whether you want speed or looks?

Speed - then do the remap (£ for £ this is the best method for more power  )
Looks - do the alloys
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Remap deffinetely, but if you do, best to get a new diverter valve 007 forge is good, with the yellow spring (if remaped)

Failed on one rear bush, one tire and also a rear bulb!

All passed now though £280 later!

Right I've got some rs6 wheels on it at moment genuine Audi ones 18inch. I've been thinking should I spray them Matt black as car is silver!

Remap i think is a goer! And why would I need one of them 007 diverted valves?

You will probably be ok for a bit, but if you get a remap then it is likely to brake as the vw ones are pretty crap.

The diverter valves on the early models are prone to failure but the 2002 models have better ones.

What happens if they break?

Also will 5 stud Porsche wheels 17inch (the fan type ones on boxsters) go straight on a mk4

no will need adapters, 5x130 to 5x100 also need to watch out for the offsets you want them quite high to allow for the adapters
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...
