German plates at the 'ring
« on: 17 August 2011, 13:26 »
Just for reference, for numpties who think they're cool.  This is from another forum I frequent:

Quote
one of our group members had the german euro style plates on his uk car, the german police have impounded his car and destroyed his plates , given him a 500 euro fine and will not let him have his car back till he can produce the correct uk style plates

Just FYI, like.

No, as that's a UK style plate and a UK registered car.

mmmmm, GB on the left and it's an orange rear plate? That's UK style. Pressed letters isn't unique to Germany, many places have them or have had them.

You might want to look at the bit between the 3rd and 4th letters. That isn't UK spec, and will get you pulled and either a fine or told to change them. Or in the germans case, your car will be staying abroad that little bit longer.
