know youse were all taking the mik and that but its only going to be so long before someone does comment saying that car washes are the work of the devil ect ect ect

and i know that some people do one wash clay ect and take a good few hours cleaning there car then for a month or two just spend 20 mins rinsing it down, but i also know some people spend 5 hours every weekend cleaning there car and polishing and waxing and generally getting all ocd with it then when someone mensions a car wash or something like that they get all arsey

wasnt really a rant at any of youse guys (sort of sounded like it was now ive read it back) just generally a rant at what people normally say about carwashes, we all know there not the best thing for our cars, equally take-aways arent the best thing for our bodies but we still have them

They probably do that because they enjoy it. I know i do. Im not a fan of slapping wet plastic strips over my car as fast as possible, dont think others should do it to theirs but i get over it

Car wash, something my car sees twice a year. The day before MOT and the day before we go on our yearly trip to Wales

My car hasnt been washed for a month, and it was painted this year.

If i dont have time to clean it weekly, i would rather it be dirty than use a car wash.

hey.. people can do what the hell they want to their cars.. wouldn't bother me in the slightest

the ONLY time I would get narked is when I've spent 15 hours correcting and polishing one and then it is taken through a car wash after someone has asked about the correct procedure for cleaning and avoiding swirls... i've had this happen and had to hide my frustration - its like saying you're going on a diet and then having two big macs and large fries...

but if nothing else... at least the OCD brigade are making the automatic car wash gang aware of the drawbacks of this hassle free, time saving, child enthralling method... and when they say that their car is never really shiny and looks like a spiders web when the sun shines then at least they will know why
