Febi topmount gone after 6K

WTH?

Had a look and my drivers top mount is up about 25mm off the turret.

How has this gone so soon? Was a proper Febi expensive VR6 one.

 

What can I do next?

25mm isnt that much, although I have heard some febi parts are getting worse quality wise!

Coilovers will soon kill them

Could be knocking but pretty much covered up by the completely knackerd wishbone bush. 

All soon to be changed except top mounts.

Is 6/7k normal then? It's not that low and I can push the front of the car down still.

mine are on about that and have started creaking and knocking too, they're febi as well. Need to replace them

Suppose that's what you get for driving hard I suppose. Well as hard as cheap tyres let you. Flipping roads dont help too much..

I think it's more about what wayne said rather than hard driving. Coilovers destroy top mounts as the coilovers put a hell of a lot more stress on them than normal soft suspension.

My febi mounts lasted about 8k on my mk3 before they started knocking!

I got Genuine ones on, not VR6 ones, just get GTI versions.

mine have seen me through 25k and still going strong and my car is low...
