Thanks for the advice from golfvr6 (vr6 ;D) regarding the RR

I've managed to book my car in on Thursday so i'm going to fit the K&N induction kit on tomorrow night so its ready for the tune on Thursday morning :D,

Does any1 know what exactly they change or what they do while the car is being tuned.

any info would be great, thanks!  ;)

I think your car is a digifant injection. They will probably re-program the chip already in the car , and set it for optimal setting on fuel and ignition. As all cars are set up to have a compromise between performance and fuel consumption, these guys will program the ecu to lean towards best performance.

Sounds like you boyz are talking tuning....How do i know when my 8v digi needs tuning..... I want more power just for the sake of it even if it means messing with the ecu.... So......

1. Does my 8v need one
2. How much?
3. Where?
4. Is it worth doing?

I love BHP!!!!!  Especially if it means 0-60 is quicker. P

p.s. I have a piperX alreadt fitted

The reason i tuned by GTI 8v mk2 was due to having 137,000 on the clock and i put a K&N on so to make the most of it i got it tuned on the rolling road for all reasons. I asked them about a chip however they said with what they can do with a chip they did with my ECU today, so don’t bother. So yeah its worth doing it. There are loads of places around that do Rolling Road Tuning you just have to fine them. It cost me 52.75 including VAT n yeah it does make a difference.

My car is totally standard apart from a Stainless steel middle section and back box and the K&N and the tune today and it feels grunti and powerful for what it is... get it done!!!!  ;)  ;D

Alrite Lads

Interesting.....

I got a 91 8v with extremely low miles, 56,000 miles to be precise, the only mods are Piper Cross induction, Some Magnecor HT Leads apart from that it is standard.....at the moment I think it is running optimum because I have sorted the timing out, three new belts, petrol additive, oil additive and it runs on optimax.  The car feels so much more responsive...However, when im idling at traffic lights I will notice the engine slightly vibrating the car however the car does idle very sweetly with no jurky revs.....I am a perfectionist and I want my Golf to be perfect so what do you reackon.

Do you think I should have this rolling thingy.....I think Graham Goode Garage in Leicester do it,

The question is do I!!!!!! ::)
Or Don't I!!!!!!!!! ???
Gamble, and just do it anyway!!!!  ;D

cheers Manesh
