86 8v GTi Fuel
« on: 15 August 2011, 08:11 »
I have an '86 8v GTi that I am restoring, been sttod for 3-4 years. Fitted new fuel pump, cleaned lines, meter head & injectors - it runs fine (once started). My question is it appears that the fuel is draining back as it takes ages to start, once running it ticks over / revs without problem. Is there a one way valve somewhere that I am missing???

Are you sure it;s draining back or could there be an issue with the CSV (Cold Start Valve).. Also, can you hear the fuel pump prime on key position 2 before you go ahead and crank it?

I can hear the pump prime up, the CSV is that the one in the end of the manifold?
