The same code has just come up on my TT, with the same symptoms. Thankfully the car is in a nice dry place so can work on it a little bit better, compared to the drive way.
Looking around on the Forums trying to find out info about this it’s been alarming at how many people have reported the same problem around the same time. Mostly start from August 2011 up until now. Must be a come thing to start braking around that time of year.

funny enough i had it cut out on me a few times for no reason and no fault codes the last time it cut out it wouldnt start then it just started again scanned it and no faults first two times it cut out on a motorway and starts again like a cough if you get me maybe mine is on its way out too
