Just a quick question about my golf mk3
« on: 14 August 2011, 00:25 »
Hello,

I have just brought a golf mk3 1.4 cl - my quick question or advice - instead of dropping a faster engine into mine can i just add a turbo straight to my 1.4 engine? If so any advice what size or how hard it will be.....

Thanks

hello.

1. no

2. very hard

3. pointless excercise as your brakes will not stop you and you'll die in a spectacular ball of flames. Sell it ,buy a faster car and spend the cash you didn't waste on insurance.

in all seriousness mate , you will waste alot of cash making 1.4 a tiny bit quicker.

the best you can hope for is 10 bhp at most from an induction kit and good full exhaust system . with that you'll barely notice a difference.

live with it for a while , save up and buy something quicker.......or look at lazy lunatics thread in dubrides to see the slippery slope he ended up flying down at 1000 mph with his 1.4!

Why do you want to make a 1.4 quicker unless it is for insurance reasons :lipsrsealed:

Nah man I've got a 1.4 mk3. They dont go fast. Theyre not slow if you drive them right and will sit at 80 happy as larry, just takes a while to get there. Dropping it on it's arse is the better option.

Low and slow mate.

used to have a 1.4 se mk3, it was fairly slow, but if i got it up to 30,000 revs in 3rd or 4th it could bring a grin to my face
