mk1 golf dimensions
« on: 13 August 2011, 15:37 »
Just wondering does anyone know if a mk1 5 door is the same kind of dimensions as a 3 door? Have a rusty 5 door shell and was thinking about making it into a 3 door instead of scrapping it. Anybody know whats involved? Have a few friends who are very handy with TIG welding?

Cheers guys

You would be looking at welding in the complete body sides, have seen Jetta's and Bora's done.

To make a 5 door, into a 3 door, you would need a 3 door donor shell, and 3 door doors.......... can you see where this is going!

Its alot of work for less gain, why not just restore the 5 door.
