This is brilliant! My mate sold his scooby about 3 months ago because he was spending to much to run it and bought a vr6 highline  He says it's much cheaper.

Wtf, I cannot see the VR being much better

I think he meant parts etc. he had to spend £80 on a rear bearing but the golf is £15 for both sides

its got 110000 miles on the clock.. had a vr  before that was rotten so I hope this one is at least not as bad. but I blame his bad advertising for the bargain lol
what was he thinking... apparently its got coilovers, fresh service new heater matrix and some other bits

I hope its good. its got the usual rust in the corner of the rear hatch , am going to check the sills as soon as i get it.

Exactly mate.....Jap parts are very expensive.

As in fuel, well it is to early for me to say but my mates Scooby returns 19mpg and that is driving it with care......He gets it into single figure's when he presses the loud pedal!

I like scooby's a lot especially the great noise of that flat four but it kind of spoils it if you have to drive everywhere watching the fuel gauge, this is why is sing the praises of the mk3 8v so much, it's a good compromise if you don't have money to burn.

I wouldn't compare a 8v gti to a 2.0 turbo rally bred sl*t lol

subarus are a mixed bag imo

if your booting them the performance is worth the petrol, hell they drink but they go bloody well.

if your not booting it there absloutly AMAZINGLY  CRAP, they guzzel fuel when your being sensible trundeling allong on your way to work,   the amount they get through is unbelievable, there worse on petrol than i am on jack daniels
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
