Weekend of cleaning the Golf
« on: 10 August 2011, 21:32 »
Hello All

As the title says spent all of Saturday afternoon/evening and all day Sunday cleaning the car and took a few pictures of the results.

Saturday

Car was hovered and all interior panels where sprayed with Sonus Cockpit Detailer and wiped using a Eurow Double Density Towel
Then the car was washed with Dodo Juice Sour Power Shampoo and a thick sheep wool wash mitt using the 2 bucket technique doing each panel twice.
Wheels where also done with Dodo Juice Sour Power Shampoo and sprayed first with Sonus Rim Bright Alloy Wheel Cleaner then cleaned using an EZ Detail Brush and a Turtle Wax wash mitt.
Car was then Clayed using Dodo Juice Born Slippy and ½ a bar of Sonus Ultra Fine Detailing Clay.
Afterwards it was hosed down thoroughly and dried using a Miracle Dryer Ultra Plush towel (25" x 36) and a Microfibre Drying Towel (38" x 28").

Sunday

Washed it again using Dodo Juice Sour Power Shampoo to get rid of any light dirt and dried using the same 2 drying towel as above.
Then waxed using Dodo Juice Blue Velvet using a Foam Wax Applicator

All the products where purchased at http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk

Here are some pics.
Enjoy

bit of trim restorer on your front gti badge and your lower grill if you a perfectionist  :nerd:

maybe also introduce some polish next time and get some tyre dresser

looks very good though

Is the trim restorer for the gray bits between the gti logo on the grill or something else and the lower grill seemed clean and smooth after washing and claying or does it look drirty.

Iv wanted to use polish but not to sure what it does and how to use/apply it. Is it a finer and more enhanced type of clay cleaning to restore the smothness and original finish to paint.

What is a good brand of polish to use.

Thanks

they are very aggressive but safe cleaners , tardis removes tar , iron x removes iron filings . I would say that iron x would make light work of those stains.
