Recommend me a screwdriver set
« on: 09 August 2011, 20:36 »
As above, anyone got an recommendations for a screw driver set? The only must is that it has a decent selection of Torx bits in it! I don't want anything stupidly expensive, or anything which is stupidly cheap

I brought one of these recently and its frigging brilliant. You can get them in homebase if you want to see what there like in the flesh + they come with the Torx bits

it depends what you are wanting to do with it if your trying to take apart things on the car then a screwdriver based torx wont be bale to get enough leverage but of your taking apart your pc or easy things then i would just buy a cheap set something like this  http://www.itslondon.co.uk/pd_PROSBITSET102_PROSBITSET102_102PieceScrewdriverBitSetInAnAluminiumCase.htm

Halfords often have a weird offer on where you buy some oil for £20 and get a £25 screwdriver set free.

Have a look at Stahlwille. They're not the cheapest but the quality is superb. It's the old adage, it pays to buy the best in the beginning and these really do last. My old man used to be a principal agent for their products and built up a huge personal collection of tools over the last 25 years, he has never had any of their tools fail on him. UK site covers all their stock, their DRALL screw driver sets offer good value and useful combinations.

i have one of them machinemart sets although it was a different brand and a lot cheaper they look the same. i have had it for years and it has been a good set even though the main screwdrivers are now knackered and snapped the micro drivers are still going strong and the screwdriver and bit set have been holding up really well for a £7 screwdriver set.
