auto-acoustics stealthsub
« on: 08 August 2011, 20:19 »
Lately i've felt the dynoaudio system isint enough for me and I've come across stealthboxes in the US forums and always liked the idea off concealing the sub to retain most of the boot space  so I found this website that does stealthboxes in the uk  http://www.auto-acoustics.co.uk/golf-mk5-stealthboxz-04-08-312-p.asp .The thing is they only do it for the MK5...Im pretty sure the boot space/layout in the mk5 and mk6 are identical but i just need to confirm weather it is or not. Thanks

Along with some old pheonix gold mid woofers, tweeters and passive crossovers and a few other bits and bobs

not really i know the space behind the rear arch is the same but the shelf support maybe different.
The JL audio stealth box i have seen been used on both mk5 and mk6  so maybe the same.

If it helps, the boot floor is the same as I had a boot liner in my mkV and it fitted like a glove in the MkVI GTD so the lower dimensions are the same, don't know about the parcel shelf area though.........

The guy on the phone said it wouldn't fit, but to be honest it didn't sound like he was too sure either.

Try and work the 'test install' angle with them, surely they want to know themselves then list it as an option or develop one :)

Alternatively, get one custom built - I can recommend a place in Hampshire that did my boot-build.
