Hi all. I have a 1995 VW Golf auto. I have recently had to change the lambda sensor and MAF sensor. Have noticed that when the car is started up when cold, it comes on then when you press accelerator to move the car seems dead, till you turn car off and turn on again and rev it up. It also, stutters when moving initially as struggling to build up speed. Have nearly had a few accidents first thing in the morning moving from junctions, as the car refuses to build up speed.

Please help, driving me crazy!!!

could be a lot of things,

1.have you had it connected to a VAGCOM to get a read if anything is electronically wrong ?

2. how good is your spark, when was the plugs/leads/rotor & cap changed ?

3. is the maf and throttle body / air hoses clean

before i spend would get it read for any codes first as it could save you

where abouts in the world are you ? maybe someone can help

Hi there. Many thanks. I live in Glasgow. Have attached to machine last wk, and nothing came up. Bloody confusing!!!!  Will take your advice.

Hi all. Thanks for making me feel very welcome. My car knowledge is nil. I attached my car to maxiscan, and got code 0116- engine coolant temp CKT RANGE /PERFORMANCE. Could this be relevant. Many thanks :laugh:
