Please say werent thinking of getting one???

Weimaraner FTW...brains and not as manic as border collie or spaniel

Yep, for my girlfriend! i Just like dogs, and we cant have and dont want a big dog for reasons i wont go into.

Shes loves pugs, i personally dont like the look of them, but this little fella looks awesome! so a cross or a boston terrier is the compromise!

I have a border terrier that is a great dog if you are into little dogs, but not yappy, and very easy to train and look after.
No hereditary health problems (unlike some pugs)
Just hate this designer dog 'fad' that is going on lately, with labradoodles and the like,

labradoodles have a place - this is an attempt to create a low-allergen dog, as they do not shed.  Poodles don't have the temperament for a lot of people, but don't shed.  Crossing them with the jolly Labrador provides a much more friendly dog which is suitable for families.

Of course not.  Such is the nature of genetics you won't always get the temperament, or the lack of shedding.

Provided the traits you are breeding for are dominant you should get approximately 75:25 ratios of the favourable traits.

That's why I used the term 'attempt'.

Your points are avoided.

That is all.

Mongrels are the way forward.

Here are my boys:

I'm not too hot on small dogs but our Westie was a old of fun, if not a bit smelly.

My brother has a rescued bulldog which has a great personality. She is a bit noisy though.

I think it looks like a pug x beagle (or 'puggle' if you want to spend £500 quid on one). I wouldn't go for a beagle personally, have heard they can be very wilful/stubborn which combined with their scenting instinct can be hard to deal with.

I have a crossbreed, a lurcher, she is a wonderful dog but her hunt/chase instinct makes her a near constant challenge when out

Still wouldn't ever have anything other than a sighthound despite the difficulties.
