Just in case you ever wondered! (new pic added)
« on: 05 August 2011, 17:51 »
What a BMW M3 wing vent. looked like on a Mk2 wing!
This would be a very easy mod, with no welding required, just the balls to cut a hole in you wing  this would have a nice sort of retro feel to it, but with an updated look, you would have to leave 4 x 10mm tabs in the wing, for the vent to clip onto, or just cut the hole, and fix the vent with PU sealer, or, get hold of an old M3 wing, and graft the OE hole onto the Golf wing... lots of options..
The vent in the pic, is the O/S one, but would be better if the N/S one was fitted to the wing, as the angled end, would be better suited to flow with the wheel arch, i'll try and get another pic tomorrow with the other vent, the M3 badge is clipped in place, and easily removed to fit something else
This is not a mod that I would want myself, but I'm sure it'll appeal to some...
Remember where you saw it first!

I wasnt going to bother posting, as I'm not really into that sort of thing, deffo needs to be the other vent though, and looked better in the flesh, than in the pic, In real life, the chrome slats would fit flat against the wing, the curve that the vent has, also matches the curve of the Golf wing

yeah, would look pretty cool if you replaced the m3 badge with one of the red gti badges you get on the skirts of the later mk2s
