Highline Cluster Alphanumeric Endings
« on: 04 August 2011, 15:32 »
Hi

I have a Lowline Cluster on my 54 plate MK5, part number: 1k0 920 951 kx z02

I'm looking to buy a Highline Cluster and upgrade via a retrofit. From my research, I require a Highline Cluster with a part number of: 1k0 920 972. This will enable me to make full use of my new style MFSW.

My question is, does it matter what alphanumeric characters follow the numbers for the Highline Cluster?

In other words, do I need to find an exact match as my current Lowline Cluster, which would meaning finding a Highline with part number: 1k0 920 972 kx z02 ?

Thanks in advance.

The last digits are for the service spec, i.e I think if its a z01 then you don't get any info for the service intervals it will just say "Service Now" z02 should give you the time to next service.

Hi Darren thanks for that, I've since discovered you're absolutely correct it's all to do with service regimes.

Should have a compatible highline on it's way soon. All I need now is to source a BK steering wheel control module!

Darren would you be kind enough to assist with fitting if needs be?? I'm always up for a road trip!

Hi there
Can you point me to where you bought the cluster? I'm from Singapore and it's difficult to find one here. Thanks a bunch!

Hi there it's the dealers I'm afraid. I wanted to ensure I got the exact match for what I'm after with my current setup. After searching for about a year on eBay I gave up anddecided to bite the bullet and go to the dealers, albeit very expensive.

Thanks. Will check out the local dealer here. hopefully the price is not too prohibitive...
