Cheers jv
Hi people i thaught id make up a bit of a thread for the Golf 1.8t agu ive got.Ive had the car about 18 months now and dont seem to be able to leave it alone,i think ive got some kind of bug for it
.
Well the first thing i did was to buy some new recaros for it as the old seats were just sports seats and looked tired so i picked these up cheap
Then i decided that the engine bay needed a little clean up as it was terrible on the eyes
Then after all that polishing i decided to paint my engine covers
ME BEING ME i can never make my mind up so the cover came off and painted the rocker cover

I decided to get up one morning and paint my front valence and run a cold air feed to my air filter
The next thing on the list was to get rid of that wood look plasic we all love
I was going to paint it but orderd some 3m carbon vinyl and had a go at covering it
Then one night was driving by a parked car and the passanger of about 8 years old opened the door and made me swerve in to a kirb scraping the front alloy all the way round
.i jumped out to kill the offender and saw he was really young and thaught it could have been worse
.I then had the brain wave to paint a red lip on the wheels to make them look half respectable

Well the next thing to do was to paint the vw badges and get rid of the golf badge off the rear, unfortunately the paint had sunk behind the golf lettering so i did a little marmite mod
a turbo badge just to cover the paint fade
I got asked if i wanted to attend a local car show by one of the local car clubs and im glad i did
the public had voteing slips for the cars and i got a 5th place trophy for best modified car (dont ask me how).I was as suprised as anyone as some of the cars i went with have 30k in there cars

I next tarted up some more engine bay parts by painting the throttle body and the cam cover and some other bits
Then i thaught id put some effort to the inside of the car again by retrimming some of the internal bits and bobs

Then time for another marmite mod
a bit of leather
Then i got offerd some winter wheels with brand new tyres for £150 so i thaught it would be rude not to
Then a month later got offerd some new 19s for my standard wheels so i did the swap
I then went to a car show and picked up a new boost gauge cut it in to the air vent and re-trimmed to suit the rest of the marmite leather

Then got hold of a new front mount intercooler and pipes
Then i decided to paint the old 18 inch wheels as they were in poor condition and had to try them on once they were done
Then the window washer broke so i did a little modification and put a mk2 washer bottle in the boot to clean the engine bay up and for something different
The plan is to put an extended spout and cap to the plastic trim next to the parcel shelf for easy filling
i also got a bargin off a local lad the other week, strut brace

I got given this harness the other week too
i like freebies
I was so happy with how good the black wheels looked i painted the 19s to see if they woud look better
Then started to think im getting a bit tired of the tint look so pulled out the rear door tints and removed the volkswagen sticker off, must be getting old but it looks much better
