Peeps, slightly off topic, but you've mentioned that you can help with bluetooth installs..
I've recently bought myself a mk6 gti with RCD510. But realized there's no bluetooth in the system. it's a pity i can't use the intergrated bluetooth functions.
Would you be able to help me retrofit them? I'm in Aberdeen...
Can you please let me know if you do, how much do you charge and where's the best place to buy the kits.. you can PM otherwise..

Cheers
Skandar
PEEPS do you offer any other services?

I'm only asking as I'm thinking of doing a section on members who offer services to forum members in the maintenance section.

Ooooh errr...  :laugh:
Judging from the ZERO response to the above offer, I doubt I'll be holding onto the cable  :sad:

I can help anyone out with Vagcom, stereo / bluetooth installs... but that's about it!

Alright mate...

I can certainly offer some guidance - but having just returned from a long honeymoon I have a lot of things to catch up on at the moment, so finding the time might be a bit tricky. I suppose we have light nights just now, so one evening is probably easier than a weekend.

What type of Bluetooth do you want?  My guide is for fitting the Fiscon kit (did you see it in the maintenance section?) although many people rate the newer version of the OEM VW one very highly. I've only tried the Fiscon and it works well for me - but I'd fish around a bit and see what it is you actually want.

If you want an OEM one then there are a few folk on here can sell you one for cheaper than VW. If it's a Fiscon kit you're after, then type Fiscon UK into google. I can't remember their website and I'm typing on my phone at the mo!

Once you figure out what you want, gimme a shout and we can get something sorted out.

Pete,
I guess you missed out on the sunshine in the Deen for the past week?...  :cool:
I'm not in a hurry to get this done, so we can arrange a time best suits you.

I've had no joy looking up in forum explaining on the difference between Fiscon and OEM VW. Can someone point me to a post or a brief summary on key difference.  My requirement is to use bluetooth handsfree using the existing integrated controls (i.e phone button on MFSW & phone button on RCD510, possibly BT audio on RCD510).
To answer you question, yes I've seen you amazing detailed instructions on the maintenance section. Firstly I don't have a VAG-COM and second I have not much confidence on doing it  myself. Would be more comfortable to be guided by an experienced hand like yourself.

Folks,
Is anyone here selling bluetooth module? (Fiscon or OEM VW)
Please advise price and the diference between fiscon and oem vw.

I presume I would need a complete set as my car does not have phone prep i.e. microphone etc..

Cheers

@skandar

I have the slightly older (May 2010 - version 5N0 035 730 C) model sitting in a box on my office floor. It is the Premium VW unit (came out of a 2010 Golf GTD) and works with many of the rSAP compatible mobiles (most Nokia's, etc.). It does not work with the iPhone or Blackberry - they need the different A2DP version of Bluetooth, which the newer VW unit comes with in addition to the rSAP.

So, if you want my unit, make me an offer! You'll still need a suitable cable, microphone and a bluetooth antenna (VW part 8P0 035 503 E), but it will work brilliantly with your RCD head unit and you get all the fab features, such as phonebook, text messaging and use of the steering wheel controls / instrument LCD.

If this is of interest, let me know and I can find out the bits that you need. The cable is €70 from Kufatec.

I might be able to help with the install, if you could get yourself to Tongue?!

@branchespark
Unfortunately both phones I use for work and personal are iphone and blackberry  :sad:

I guess what I learn from this is that I will need  the new  version of OEM bluetooth (iphone/Blackberry compatible).. Anyone else has this for sale?

oooh I might be interested in this, but would need to see how much the whole ensemble costs first.  See if it's much cheaper than factory order.

I got my bluetooth kit off ebay - came from Poland I think (It was about 18 months ago), easy enough to fit but you do need someone with VAGCOM for the coding....

danski, thanks for that I've started my hunt on ebay just now. :smiley:

Does this ebay post below has complete kit?   i.e all cable required for a car without phone prep from factory
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270796202950&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Some advise will be appreciated.
