Car insurance
« on: 03 August 2011, 19:57 »
Hi, just wondering if anyone could recommend a company that has reasonable insurance prices as mine has shot up this year even tho i have an extra years no claims and a year older with more experience

i currently pay £605 with swift cover but they have sent me a renewal for £1190 which is a big jump.

im 24 and have 4 years no claims and drive a 2001 2.0 Gti

Please let us know if you know anyone who may be cheaper,

i have tried insuresupermarket, confused but cheapest was still £1050.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Wierd that, I have just had my renewal through from swiftcover and its gone from £603 to £1230 for fire & theft in the last year!! Personally I shall not be calling them to ask them to lower their prices as they are an insult, I already have quotes for circa £800 fully comp that Im not happy accepting but doubling the premium is beyond reasonable. I should add I drive a mk2 gti and am 34 with full no claims entitlement. WTF is going on with prices?

I foolishly assumed that being forced to pare up male and female prices would lower mens prices or at least stabilise them for a year but it seems that everyone is getting a regal bumming from their insurers this year.
