MK2 8 valve engine hunting

Hi guys, i have a 1991 mk2 gti and for some reason the engine starts to hunt when it is idol. It doesnt do it all the time .
Anyone know how i can fix this ?

Clean the ISCV and see if that improves the idle.

lets hope you dont need a new one there £200

try cleaning it with carb cleaner that sorted mine

mate, if you aren't sure what it is, it is a cylindrical silver thing of top of your rocker cover with two pipes and a plug on it.

normally it is held in place by a rubber type thing on a bracket.

Mk3 ones are the same and much newer, £3 up the scrapyard for mine.

But yeh dont just assume its that, hunting can be down to lots of little things. Air leaks being one, dodgy full throttle switch etc etc.. the list goes onnnn!
