Diesel particle filter... Advice please
« on: 01 August 2011, 20:25 »
Hi guys

Trying to help a mate out here, he has the engine management light on and has had the car on the fault reader machine which tells him it is the filter named above, it comes in at a cool £1500...

Is there any other way around this, he has been told to re map it ???

Any advice/help much appreciated...

Walchy

You can fit a delete pipe.  You will then need a remap to map out the regeneration cycles of the DPF as its no longer there

Prices vary but its considerably cheaper than a new DPF pipe.  Upside is more MPG and over 200bhp if done properly

We look after a fleet of vauxhall Cdti taxi which are all running Dpf and all have issues with the blocking, in the vauxhall they are easy to remove and we blast them out with 400psi of compressed air, this tends to sort them for 12months.  I have not tried it yet on a vag dpf. The person in the know when it comes to dpf is The Doc.
