Absolutely no point! The peak power is way below the redline anyway.

For instance my 16v revs to 7000 but the peak power is aroun 6000.
Revs do not make power.

To make it rev faster when on the move or in English, accelerate faster you need more power, simples.

He has same engine in his LCR as what i have in my golf

its night and day difference between his engine and how it revs and yours

thats what my cousine said, his comparing his cupra to my 8v, and my cousine has a 16v mk3 and says since i have had the flywheel fitted it has made a BIG diffrence.

& as soundillusion says need more power, which is of course true.

lighter internals increase rate of rpm change I believe, but easier and cheaper to buy a new car I suspect.

Things like having a 16v engine with 16 smaller springs rather than 8 big springs, lighter crank/cam, etc.  Modern moves to electric power steering, load-sensative alternators etc, all reduce load on the engine and help.

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

Well there's probably nothing wrong with your car and someone who has a much quicker car is just stating facts rather than pointing out a problem....  Sadly it is what it is, you could spend lots of money and get a few more horses out of it but for that money you could get a cheap transplant, probably.

you could do a 20VT swap fro a decent price if you choose the 150bhp lump out of something like a mk4 GTI, With a remap you would be looking at around 190 hp

or even cheaper u could wack a VR lump under your hood..

To get it to rev faster, you could lighten the flywheel and Crank pulley.

This made a noticeable difference on my 16v, cost to effect it is probably the best thing you could do, it isnt expensive and you will notice it pick up much quicker
