whatever you put on make sure it's in an air box or you'll get an engine full of sand. Also with an airbox you will probably get more power as heat soak from your engine and the high air tempreture in egypt will reduce power with an induction kit such as k&n.

get a k&n replacement filter element, and use a std airbox as said above

Yup you'll deffo want to go for the standard 1.6/1.8 carb airbox setup, with the cold air feed pipe going into the wing.  The engine code will be EZ by the way ;)

Hmm I dunno why but for some reason I thought you had swapped in a 1.6 carbed engine, god knows what I was smoking at the time

There are 2 main types of charger, the difference being that some are spun using exhaust gasses and others are belt driven such as the one found on the VW G60.

It sounds like the kit includes all the extra pipes you need to hook up an intercooler, which cools the air before it is sucked into the engine to give more boost.

A turbo charger does indeed look like a steel fan, but you can't just bolt one on to a non turbo engine, you need all the pipework to plumb it in, and usually you need to play with the engine to get the correct compression ratio, the normal way is to use a thicker head gasket and/or different pistons.

Not an easy job basically :)
