Chrome window trim cleaning
« on: 29 July 2011, 14:29 »
Whats best to use on the chrome effect window trim to clean it and to protect it?

Im replacing all the chrome trim on my A4 cause they previous owner used chrome cleaner and rubbed the shine off it. Its costing a small fortune to replace so I wanna keep it in tip top condition

Fk1000p is a very good wax hybrid and is very durable, also look into wolfs body wrap which is getting good reviews on DW http://www.waxamomo.co.uk/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=WP-0NT

both are well worth looking into for good protection and durability,

ps im so glad my audi doesnt have the crome trim:)

i used Super resin polish on the audi A3 here and it worked a treat

Could also try a mild metal polish, non abrasive type so not Autosol

i wouldnt recommend metal polishes as this trim isnt actually metal its coated so a finishing or medium polish is all thats needed really to bring it back up before you seal and protect it.

the non abrasive stuff is fine for it, says you can even use it on chrome plated plastic on the bottle

as i say, i used AG Super resin polish, worked a charm
