knock coming from the front end of the car...

hi all...

ever since i've had my mk3 there has been a knock coming from the front end of the car, when i reverse and put my foot on the brake, i get a knock, it don't happen all the time and it don't happen when i go forward.

I've taking it to my local garage but they can't find any problem, but i know something is not right...

any suggestions will be much appreciated

Mine does it. Think it's the rear wishbone bush or engine mount.

Where all my moneys went.

I have this aswell when I'm going coward and brake, never noticed if it happens in reverse. It does my head in
ASV 1.9 TDI 110

How a garage can't spot that I don't know! That's if that's his problem of course

If it dont knock when you brake going forward (only in reverse) then cant be brakes related.
Check all front suspension bushes and engine mounts.

Bushes caan be fairly hard to spot at times.

Is the handling OK? My front drivers wheel will just just an inch out of line round corners especially if you hit a drain cover due to it.

the car handles fine, never had any problem with the handling of the car, as what kr1s77 said... it dose your head in :angry: going to get it looked at again on the weekend, Checking all front suspension bushes and engine mounts this time.

the car handles fine, never had any problem with the handling of the car, as what kr1s77 said... it dose your head in :angry: going to get it looked at again on the weekend, Checking all front suspension bushes and engine mounts this time.

do it yourself mate, its alot cheaper, checking the bushes, how i done my old dears mk4 looked at them and they were warped hence knocking sound, there was a big gap so i knew that had to be changed - and it fixed it
