Hi Guys,

I'm looking at buying this r32: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/3062191.htm

But before I part with my 12k  :laugh: I wondered what to look for to make sure I'm getting a good deal and not a skip dressed pretty!

Advert is a bit vague  :grin: Make sure it's had the proper DSG service and that you test the smoothness from first to second gear and smoothness while reversing.

Yes petrol and Road Tax is all considered. Are there any black-spots so to speak I should look for? common faults or expensive faults that someone may try to cover up?

oh steve, you know i'll defend R32s till the day i die :grin:

by all means test drive an ed30 if you haven't already done your research, they're very different cars.

If your heart is set on the bigger brakes, 4motion, addictive exhaust note and frequent visits to the petrol station then check the service history for haldex services as well as the dsg work. A set of discs and pads all round can cost 400 quid from vw for the parts alone so its worth checking those out too it could get you some off the asking price.

Never seen that R32 & I drive past that place everyday going to work.

PS. If you go for a test drive, don't turn left out the place as there are 4 fixed speed camera's ready to catch you within 200yards :wink:

I'm no R32 expert, but the usual rules apply. Buy on condition and there is plenty of choice at the moment (as you should have seen from the PH classifieds) if this one doesnt feel right or have the correct history just walk away.
