Ipad3?

Was thinking of getting an iPad2 at the weekend then thought heard a rumour iPad 3 might be out end of year beginning of next?
Anyone actually know when it's due out?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was out before Xmas. Hold fire and see, it'll be a better upgrade than the 2 from iPad 1 was.

not sure about flash, but rumour has it is that it will have a hi res screen. The analogy is:

ipad 2: macbook
ipad 3: macbook pro

It's coming in September, apparently.

There may well be a new ipad coming out soon, like bobo said it will have a higher res screen and faster processor, but it will more likely be called the ipad2 pro.

The only reason Apple will break away from their current ipad a year is that technology is evolving too quickly and they're missing out.

No offense to your mrs, but all she has is rumours. Nothing is official about any Apple product until it appears in their online store, or Steve Jobs announces it on stage.

If you want one, and like what they can do now, buy one. If you wait until they launch a new one, you'll be waiting a while until they actually have stock, then at some point they'll launch another one and you'll feel in the same position as now. Technology is always changing, you just have to get on with it and buy what you want

It would make sense for them to launch a new iPhone to coincide with the new iOS 5 in quarter 4 of this year, however it would probably be a minor revision, unlike 3gs to 4. The US carriers all deal with 2 year contracts on mobiles, so anyone who bought a 4 (the bulk of their consumers) wont be able to upgrade yet, so the market wont be ready for them.

+1 my mate is a district manager at phones 4 u and they have on the system ipad 3 but there is no date shops never get dates until apple physically says 1 publicly.... as for the iphone 5 rumours are rumours if we listened to them there would be a iphone 5 out now lol.... as they have just only released the white and as macca says heaps of folks are on 2 yr contracts with the iphone 4 would be silly to release now
