I wonder why it is that VW UK deem us only fit for such a turgid bunch of colours for the GTI. The Scirocco has some reasonably interesting colours after all. The mk3 GTI was the most woeful GTI ever and yet after the first couple of years it was available in lots of quite interesting colours.
Mind you, my officially boring silver has just been washed but beforehand apart from the brake dust on the alloys and a couple of appreciation deposits from Sussex birds you'd never have realised it had been driven 210 miles, parked up for a fortnight in the open, driven back and then left in a dusty garage all week. I love silver.
On another note, it did the trip on one tankful of fuel there and back and still isn't empty or even on the red. You wouldn't be able to do that with an ED35 engine doing the same speed and traffic cycle I wouldn't mind betting. I'm in love with the car again. If only it had xenons.
