Help Tdi anniversary

Hi guys my friends 52 plate tdi anni
Has developed a knocking in the engine
Is sounds ok on tick over but when you
Get the revs up develops a loud knock from
The cam belt side of the rocker cover any
Ideas or thoughts would be appreciated

might be worth taking the cam cover off and checking the lobes and followers for wear  :sad:
I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

It sounds like one lobe sounds like a machine-gun
When you rev it but sounds normal on tick
Over rev to about 2500 and it starts do you think
It could be getting starved of oil. Poss strainer blocked
