As iv got a half day today, I think its wise to start stripping my car, where to start though? Start with the dash? Get that out ecu and clocks? Or start in the bay unclipping things ready to just lift the engine and box??

You can get the 8v out in about 1-2hours easy (with a crane etc) dash is quite straight forward just dont forget the 2 bolts under the scuttle panel give it an hour so good half day to day you will be ready for transplant

Cool cool, I aint got a crane yet, waiting for my mate to drop his round! So there no harm in getting it to the point of lifting the engine out

Going to speak to the person on e38 tonight for his engine, only prob is he still don't have the inlet mani back from getting powder coated! Fingers crossed he will by saturday!

Trust me iv learned my lesson! Unless there is a very recent receipt for cam belt ill be doing a new one on every car I ever get second hand!

Yeah going to do a new HG, chain guides, timing kit, probably re grind the valves in too! Just so I know its all sat sweet! Was just a bit weary that engine done 150k! But if I do all them bits I'm preserving the life of the engine! But not bad for 250 ono! So ill put the feelers out at 175 and see where I get lol

As for use of my car, car is un useable at the month anyway! Build thread will be a definate!!

VR6 does not have a timing belt all done on the chains, better to fit a new genuine kit with guides etc.
