Hi there,

I am just reading a workshop manual and it says that VW Digifant generates two types of fault codes (4 digit and 5 digit). If I have read correctly you can find out the flash codes (4 digit) via the warning lamp on the dash. In order to do this though, you must locate the two pin SD connection. Apparently, this is located either near to the gear lever or in the footwell.

I have a Mk2 8v Digifant, so decided to give it a try. I took off all of the trim around the gear stick and passenger side footwell, but I can't seem to find it. Here is the description from the manual:

"Locate the two-pin SD connection. Where the SD connection is in the footwell or near to the gear lever, the black connection to the left of the SD connector (white or brown) is a voltage subbly and earth connector. Note it is not possible to obtain flash codes from the 68-pin digifant system, nor when the SD connector is the 16-pin ISO connector."

You then use a jumper lead/piece of wire to connect the SD connector to earth for 5 seconds and then the warning lamp will start flashing and give you the fault codes. I have a list of fault codes in the manual, so though this might be a good way to help diagnose a problem I am having.

Has anyone managed to retrieve the flash codes or know where I can find the SD connection (or whether the MK2 8V Digifant actually has the connectors)? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dave.

Mk2 digifant does not have a diagnostic connector.
