Make sure the threads fit. I thought I could simply put the same wheel nuts from my old alloys on my new ones... same golf!! didnt fit.
Halfords do standard and locking wheel nuts.

it all depends on what nuts/studs are on the car. aftermarket alloys usually require wheel studs with a different taper on the head
i have two sets of wheel studs for my car. one for the BBS's and one for the winter wheels.
