Wheel Spacing
« on: 20 July 2011, 23:15 »
Okay, i am 17 and trying to bring my mk3 1.8se up to scratch.
so far i have bought a vento front end conversion, fitted a gti spoiler and all round gti trim and fitted some old alloys..
all looks pretty good imo.
i would like to space the wheels out, what size spacers do people recomend and do they have any pictures of before and after jobs on their own whips?

Depends how wide the wheels are, what offset they are, what size tyres you're running, how low you are, whether the arches have been cut/rolled/pulled

Basically, measure from the lip of your wheel to where you want it to sit and that is what size spacer you want

I had 12mm spacers and with 205 tryes it rubbed the arches (lowered 40mm) so I invested in some 195's and trimmed the inner arch a little bit and it solved the rub issues

Find out the offset of the alloys as a 1st step.
