winter tyres ....who bothers

winter tyres......

well after the last 2 winters where i've struggled to get home i've sorted winter wheels
and tyres for both our cars

does anyone else bother?

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Never have done before but as i've just ordered a set of MAM MT1 alloys i think i'll be buying some winter wheels which i'll slap some winter tires on

Quite a lot of the MK6 boys bought some and were very impressed. If you got the wonga to do it then I cant see why not. They DO give better traction and grip in the snow, fact.

Yep, fitted to mine and also the wifes car last winter and it made a tremendous difference. Would be an essential purchase for me with any future car

I just got 4 Yoko Prada Spec 2's fitted.

They are going to be my winter tyres.

Yep we had winter tyres on our runabout last winter (the golf languishes and never goes out in inclement weather), made a very big difference so well worth it. Don't forget winter tyres aren't only for snow, they are designed for lower temperatures as well so still a good choice even if you don't get loads of snow. But where we live we have a lot of snow and it's very hilly so it's very well worth it for us.

Not needed on the Passat as it's 4Mo and has ESP.

If I don't have a 4WD car next winter I would consider them.... although I think buying them would be the kiss of death to cold winters.  :grin:

i rock my old GTI rims at winter they also have parada on and they are not the best in the snow. 2 need replacing on the old rims so im gonna fit winter rubber for sure
