hi guys a little help pleeeaaase!!!

i have a very nice mk4 golf gt tdi. but the engine is total wank!! and im having endless problems with turbo related issues
i want to know is it possible to put a 1.8 gti turbo (petrol) engine in my mk4 gt tdi (diesel) car??? without much hassle how much of a problem would this be? then my plan is to put a audi tt turbo on the 1.8 gti engine. good idea or do you see many problems?

im not to bad with fixing cars but im a lil new to enhancing performance ect!
#any help and advice would be most welcome :)

Cheaper to fix your current engine as you'd need all new fuel lines, wiring loom, ECU etc etc

What engine do you currently have and what's wrong with it?

hi

its the 115bhp 1.9 gt tdi ahf engine.. the engine its self is ok'ish im just fed up of the constant turbo problems! and even with the turbo working fully its just lacking the power i desire.

but im inlove with the car! so im wondering if the 1.8 gti turbo engine with audi tt turbo be worth it and how possible is it? i know the gti turbo engine puts out about 150bhp but im wantin a 200 to 300bhp car so with the tt turbo and ecu re programmed im guessin i can achive this??

To convert back to petrol will be a ballache, might be better to find a donor car.

Why swap out an engine for an engine that is already existing in the same model?

If you want one then just sell the tdi and get the 1.8T it won't cost as much to do either.

If you want more power, remap it.

Diesels have one of THE most usable power ranges in a modern car.....

Have you looked at remapping it? Get in contact with either CCT or R-Tech.

In answer to your question, you will need the fuel tank, pump and fuel lines, engine, engine loom, ecu, clocks and gearbox. A lot of time and a large pocket because you will undoubtedly need new gaskets, washers, seals, oil, coolant, spark plugs, filters etc etc etc
Good luck

im guessin you are a fan of the vw tdi engine, agreeable slick? but if you were me at this moment in time and have had the issues i have had with this engine/turbo/vacume/constant lack of turbo.. there for driving around in a 40mph car is quite annoying! i do like a turbo diesel when going rite! but at heart i love my petrol engines :)

any1 know if the engine and gear box mounts are different from the petrol and diesel??
