four bolts, you need a socket on an extension bar to get to them then it should just slide out. some people have said they have had some more smaller bolts but i haven't a clue what they're on about!!! the four big'uns are easy to see underneath and are either 17mm or 19mm the passenger side ones are a pain in the ass to get to as the rear exhaust can get in the way but should only be a five minute job.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

Hi,

Just been under me 8valver at the exhaust place today... .canny tip ... good time to do a little cheeky undersealing of the rear trailing arms on the suspension... always get a bit rusty round there. :)

Anyways... to the matter in hand!

Is yours a big bumper model??

I need to adjust my bumper after knocking a lampost. Needs a little reposition. In addition to the 4 bolts underneath, your golf may still have some extra bolts / screws that locate on the bottom edges of the inner arch liner and wheel arch surrounds. These are slider slots that can take up some slack when the bumper is in place.

Anyways, little bit of info that may be helpful

Cheers,
