Has anyone put power steering into their cabrio cos my steering is well heavy n, for a lass, i'm gan to have arms the size of stallones!Any prices or places to go wud be well appreciated!
Could the fact i've got 17"s be making it worse?
Cheers!

Go to a scrapyard and find a wrecked mk2 with all the bits on it for power steering.

TSR sell a kit to allow you to fit power steering to MK1. probably expensive though.

Mk2 steering rack wont fit a cabrio as it uses mk1 chassis, did late Scirocos have pas as a option?, if so that would fit. You will need all the pulleys, hoses pump and mounts etc.

Don't think the scirocco's did have it. Maybe some of the late Cabrio's?

So the long and short of it are:
a) buy smaller wheels with less width - 17" is causing your heavy steering
b) subscription to the gym
or possibly
c) make sure the car is tracked and cambered properly as this can cause real heaviness in the steering (but usually to one side only).
